In Bloom

After yet another season of cruel and unusual temperatures for Miami during the winter months -and yes by winter I mean 65 degrees- my heart has gladly opened its arms to spring. I've seen a few girlie posts pop up in the blogosphere with lists of thing people love about spring like "my boyfriend Chad, Opi nail polish in Easter Egg, and cupcakes" and I was all Hey, I want to do one of those, too!

So I did.

Behold my list of things I love about spring:

Bruno, who's gotten so much better since finishing his back treatment and is now walking and playing with his favorite toys (even if I still have to carry him up and down the stairs come potty time). Took this awesome picture of his open mouth and I love it as well as his bad breath and everything about him.
Here's a less gross one to offset the nastiness because I love you.

Sleeping
No explanation required... It just is what it is.

My Mother's Backyard Mango Tree

The powder she left for me at my place last week with a note attached that read: "Saw this and thought of you." <---- Um, thanks?

The nutjob chick at my Monday Zumba class who always wears that tight pink outfit and feels the need to over dance every move, elbowing and kicking me a few times over the course of an hour in the process.

Rachel Ray's 4-Minute Spicy Garlic Shrimp
Haven't tried it? Hmmmm you don't know what you're missing! I know you have four minutes.

The MAC lipgloss Jenna bought me and its ironic name as it's precisely the opposite to what I am right now.

My new fake nails because they're just the right amount of ghetto, slutty, fabulousness (and my snake ring from the 90's which leaves a green ring around my middle finger but I don't care because it rocks).

The evil fro yo spot by my place (so good).

This! So so much. Simply no words to describe it...

And yeah, why not? This as well.
What about you?

I'm kind of loving the new vibrator I bought. I just have to have music on really LOUD because it sounds like a missile launching in my room. :/

I enjoy hot men jogging shirtless. I also enjoy hot men hiking shirtless and biking shirtless.

Oh, and, reggae.

I'm not real big on spring, myself, but that's because of the pollen. Ugh. Still, I have to admit that I do love seeing flowers in bloom--especially azaleas. And I always get a feeling of rebirth, of the cycle starting from a fresh, clean beginning. Glad your puppy is better, Gorgeous! Well, that reads a little dirtier than I intended . . . or did it? Heh.

I love the Spring season! Here are a few reasons why:

1. Extra sunlight takes the "gloomies" away

2. The Bluebonnets bloom! Actually, I love any "bloomns" -so pretty!

3. Shorts and skirts season! Buh bye blue jeans!

4. Sandal-wearing weather

5. Hot and shirtless men running in Memorial Park. Sometimes, when I go walking there, the abundance of yummy men and their muscular legs are enough to cause me to bump into a tree! (not that it's happened to me personally
-allegedly) lol

6. Baseball season begins!!!!

And there you have it. My list. :)

Hey I think OPI needs to make a color called, "Undersexed" or "Practically Virginal" or something like that. I'd buy a few boxes! muahahaha! :)

Temperatures warm enough that I can run outdoors without dressing like an uncircumcised penis. Nights warm enough that the husband and I can go for walks to the frozen yogurt shop. Motherfucking sunshine!

Also, I'm beyond jealous that your mom has a mango tree in her backyard. I fucking LOVE mangoes!

That was a great list. Love that ring! So you're the crazy dog lady who's oversexed and needs to achieve additional orgasms from the fro yo nearby? I knew I loved you!.

Sara: Your comment was hilarious. Go, girl!

Just Me: So basically, any outdoor activity in which you can see shirtless men? I understand.

J. Franklin: Oooh that sucks about the allergies :( But at least the sun will be out. And si... Bruno is doing much better. My little fattie cakes.

Julie: Sorry :/

Yvonne: Love your list.

MonsteRawr: She loves them too. Once they fall she eats them like a lunatic. Like four per day, it's insane.

Barbs: I'm the "undersexed" but would certainly like to be oversexed. No doubt about it.

Violet: I will most def check it out. And that Fro Yo place is sooooo good. They have all these flavors. It's called Menchie's.

Lilly: I *LOVE* her. Her new cd is amazing and worth every penny. So gifted. WOW!

So happy Bruno is starting to improve. And totally with you on the Zumba freaks. So painful

I'm glad to hear Bruno is so much better! What I love about spring is walking to my car on bare ground instead of ice and snow. I'm looking forward to blossoms on the apple trees.

gogiita192 said...

that first pic of bruno is a little scary but is definitely made up for with the second. im going to have to go with the vacation time for the spring which is by far what i am looking forward to.

so not fair. it snowed, SNOWED here last night! I was enjoying my daffodils blooming and wham, winter sucker punched me again! I'm still in my winter doldrums, tired, cranky, and want some sun or I'm gonna unleash some perimenopausal whoopass on someone real soon!

Dani said...

Hey clear nail pollish inside the ring might protect you from the green finger syndrome. It needs to be reappiled occasionally but it's a simple fix I've used several times.

Where I am it is the opposite of spring but I am still happy about the change of season. Why?

The rain might stop YAY

Snuggling in bed (either with someone or alone)

You don't burn your ass on the car seat when you get in wearing your shorty shorts.

In line with the theme I LOOOVE that first day when the sun is shining and it is warm enough to get out that new strappy dress you just bought.

I love spring because all of the trees by my house stop looking dead and finally look pretty and green.

Oh and I like it because my cats will finally leave my room and stop using the litterbox and go outside to do their business because it's finally not to cold for them.

Ps.I love Adele! I wish she'd come to the states and preform

monstergirlee said...

The more I listen to Adele's new album the better I like it and the more I need to listen to it.
I like the flowers that are popping up all over. The Pacific NW is a such a great place to be in spring. As long as you have rubber boots and an umbrella.

Lu3Lu said...

hehehehe lovely post.... well where I am its close to being winter so I'm jealous.
But I love the 'lazy' pic... THAT IS SO ME! hahahaha!

hope you enjoy Spring! do it for me too! yes?

That was a great list Annah. i will have to work on one as well. Have a great week.

Um I love ADELE so much, if she comes around my way or around your way I am going to see her!

Oh I know what you mean about the over zealous dancer at Zumba there are quite a few of those in every class, Trust me...

Loved your post :)

Annah said...

Lola: Snow?! I feel for you. WOW. It was 90 degrees here yesterday. And I tanned. My white ass needed it very very much.

Dani: THANK YOU! I am so going to try that next time. You are a life saver.

Gemma: Great list, chica.

Rebekah: The cat reason is a *very* good one. I know what you mean.

Lu3Lu: Promise to do so. And take pictures and post so we can enjoy spring together!

Xylina: She actually is on tour here in the States and all her tickets are sold out. ALL OF THEM. I checked in every single city :( So so sad.

Ah, Spring. I love the first hints of green as the leaves start reaching out from their buds. I love the warmth in the air, and the smell of "new." And I love the wild and crazy that seems to invade the bedroom in spring. Bounce off the walls wild. Rrawr.

the start of baseball season. 'spring' in florida is really just 'less summer'. nothing really changes and it pisses me off. in new york, spring is awesome: trees start budding, the ground starts thawing, and baseball season starts. did i mention baseball season?

this spring, i'm excited because i know i'll be moving back to new york once we sell this house and find a new place to live.

Migz said...

There's season's in Miami?
"Spring" means I will be looking forward to sitting in the parking lot at Joe Robbie Stadium drinking beer before going to watch a Marlins game while drinking more beer.
It also means the humidity will start to go up again and it will be hot and muggy.
It will also bring rain. Lots and lots of rain.
It will also begin the exodus of leather skinned French Canadians as they return to their homes and free us from their bad driving and stupid accents and for that I am thankful.

Aww you dog is so cute his mouth looks like a wasp on the first pic. As for nutjob chick i'd go Mr Miyagi on her ass and use her face to paint my fence and wash my windows.

The BEST thing about spring for me is going to play in the Rio Grande. I also always look forward to going to my favorite place to eat since they only have outdoor seating... And BBQ! And camping! And seeing lizards all over the place!

Annah said...

Danger Boy: Rawr back at you! I didn't know your bedroom was seasonal. LMAO

Migz: You're such an idiot sometimes, amigo. You're just jealous of the Canadians and their nice manners and awesome fashion sense. Admit it!

Alice: Thank you. I fell in love with that picture and want to print it from CVS as soon as these rains stop. Speaking of Spring and Miami promptly began doing its thing: Rain rain and more rain.

Steph: Can't wait to see the pictures of NYC once you move back. And come on... Florida doesn't nearly have it as bad as other states as it relates to the weather. Even if our seasons are HOT and HOTTER.

Logic: Hmmm BBQ's. You just reminded me how much I love those. Especially on the beach. Awesome.

What shade is that lip gloss? Is it more red, pink, or bronze?

Deidra said...

That is simply the MOST awesome powder I have ever seen!

AFon said...

Adele is amazingness and I am pretty I've listened to Someone Like You a few hundred times. But for me Spring says summer is just on the horizion. So spring means gym time to prepare for the beach, vacays, and concerts!

Red velvet and cake batter. I can't even process the rest of the blog because I'm too busy thinking about that. Except your dog. He's so precious.

FreeFlying said...

Bruno is darling. And red velvet cake batter needs to come out of my sink tap. I'm over water.

I like spring because you never have to have any plans. You can just walk to the park and watch all the kids and dogs play like maniacs and laugh and eat your cheese crackers. Perfect.

I just wanted to tell Smart Ass Sara that you can buy dildoes that play music. My favorite is "O Come All Ye Faithful!"

Kev D. said...

Oversexed lip gloss?

Does that mean that the lip gloss is good for soothing lips that having been sucking on too much wiener? Or does it mean that it gives you lips that much wanted oversexed look? You know the kind a cheap prostitute might have?

I'm going to go out and buy some either way.

Not for me!

Annah said...

Jenna: Like a coral type. I found it rather dry to be honest. But I'm guessing that's what you feel like after being oversexed? LMAO. Sorry, I had to.

Rebecca: Thank you (about Bruno). And yes! The evil maker's of that effin' Menchie's place have ALL sorts of flavors. This isn't your regular vanilla, chocolate, and mixed place. They have EVERYTHING. Oh and all sorts of cereals and little pieces of chocolate to throw in there, plus caramel and fudge and sprinkles. OI :(

Fred: You gotta be kidding.

Kev: You know the lipgloss is for you. Stop kidding yourself. And I like to think it's for the 1st option. For me though, it would be for the 2nd. As long distance relationships don't lend themselves to a lot of sexin' :( FAIL

THUNDERCAT832 said...

Thank god I'm not the only lip-gloss freak! I have over 240 tubes and sticks of it from different brands and shades...something is wrong with me :(

Amanda said...

I've been outside in less clothing than I should be-hoping it's going to be warmer than it actually is-now I just come off as a slut-but that's maybe a good thing? Yeah, spring!

I'm looking forward to Spring for ...

Finally being able to drink, without my good friend Mr Fake-ID
Rain (it doesn't rain a whole lot Down Under)
No longer having to drive in a sleeping back as my car heating doesn't work... (Yes, I am actually forced to do this ... SO classy :/ also I'm fairly sure a lot of people think I live in my car)
Being able to tell the difference between the temperature of a Vodka Sunrise with ice and my freezing cold hand holding it
Beautiful tanned workmen taking their shirts off on hot days *sigh*
SUMMER SOON :)

Too bad I have to wait another 6 months for my Spring :( ...
